bronze circular medal, obv. Chinese junk sailing left with “CHINA SERVICE” legend; rev. American eagle perched on an anchor with “UNITED STATES NAVY” and “FOR SERVICE” inscriptions. Suspended from yellow ribbon with crimson edge stripes, complete with original pin-back brooch. Moderate oxidation and age patina with traces of wear. Very Fine.
of goblet form with slender stem on domed base, mounted on circular black wooden plinth. A commemorative piece from the early ROC era, reflecting Shanghai’s active foreign community athletic events of the period. Minor age toning and surface marks.
featuring a starburst design with “SVC” monogram and scroll inscribed “4th April 1854,” marking the Corps’ founding date. Retains original pinback fitting. Light patina, overall fine condition.
ncluding examples for the “Shanghai Scottish,” “Armoured Car Company,” and standard “S.V.C. 4th April 1854” type. Comprising one brass and two nickel-plated metal pieces, each with distinct regimental insignia and fixing devices on reverse. Historically significant emblems of the multinational defense force of Shanghai’s International Settlement.
mbossed with the Corps’ founding date “4th April 1854,” marking the establishment of the SVC during the Taiping Rebellion. A fine example of late-period uniform insignia with natural patina and minor wear.
both bearing the Great Seal of the United States with spread eagle and shield design, marked “Scovill Mfg. Co. Waterbury” on reverse. Silvered brass construction with natural patina. Standard issue for U.S. Army dress uniforms of the period.
gilt brass with embossed crest and anchor motif, inscribed “Shanghai Fire Brigade” around central shield. Reverse marked “Buttons Ltd. London”. Light wear with natural age tone, well preserved for the period.
silvered metal with enamel center featuring the arms of the International Settlement and the motto “Omnia Juncta in Uno” (“All Joined in One”). Reverse with original pinback and maker’s mark “YEN.” A fine example of pre-war Shanghai foreign police insignia. Extremely rare.
eight-pointed star badge with circular centre, bearing the crossed flags of China, the United Kingdom, and other foreign powers in coloured enamel, encircled by “SHANGHAI MUNICIPAL POLICE” legend. Retains original pin fitting on reverse. Light oxidation and surface ageing, with traces of enamel wear. Very Fine.
both metal construction with maker’s marks “J. Compton Sons & Webb Ltd, London.” One bearing the municipal crest with flags and dragon design, the other with plain text “SHANGHAI MUNICIPAL POLICE.” Scarce relics from the International Settlement policing era.
eaturing the multination flags crest with motto “Omnia Juncta In Uno” at center, surrounded by laurel wreath. Reverse marked “J. Compton & Sons Ltd London.” A well-preserved relic from the British-led Shanghai Municipal Police era.
Featuring the Arms of the Shanghai Municipal Council, with Chinese junk, camel crest, and motto “Omnia Juncta In Uno” within scroll beneath. Maker’s mark “HOBSON & SONS, LONDON” impressed on reverse, with shank intact. Attractive patina and light age wear. Very Fine.
