The cover arrived in Chungking on (Aug 6), but was redirected to Canton on (Aug 8) due to a misunderstanding by the post office, which believed the Supreme Court had relocated to Canton. This cover illustrates the postal confusion caused by the ongoing relocation of Nationalist government institutions during the final phase of the Chinese Civil War.
