A 1937 press photograph showing Chinese General Bai Chongxi commanding troops in Shanghai. Taken during the early stage of the Battle of Shanghai, the image records General Bai leading about 300,000 soldiers under Chiang Kai-shek’s orders to resist the Japanese invasion, symbolizing the unity of China’s rival factions in a common war effort.

A fine studio portrait showing the Guangxi warlord and prominent Nationalist military leader in half-length view, wearing a white tunic with shoulder strap. Unused, clean and well-preserved with only light toning. A scarce contemporary portrait issued during Li’s prominence in the National Revolutionary Army.
The document promotes the government's National Products Movement, encouraging domestic industrial development and the use of Chinese-made goods while resisting foreign economic dominance. Issued shortly after the Northern Expedition, it reflects the early Nationalist administration's industrial and economic reconstruction policies. A historically significant example of early Republican economic policy documentation. Age-toned paper with seal and printed signature; overall in very good condition.
