comprising the China Incident War Medal and the Russo-Japanese War Medal. Both bronze issues with original ribbons, the former featuring the “China Incident” clasp, and the latter inscribed for the Russo-Japanese campaign. Fine period examples of Imperial Japanese military decorations.

Bronze circular medal, obv. two crossed army helmets above inscription “昭和六年乃至九年事變” (Showa 6-9 Incident), rev. rising sun above an eagle with outspread wings holding a scroll. Suspension bar inscribed “滿洲事變” (Manchurian Incident). Complete with original red and yellow striped ribbon and clasp fittings. Light age tone and minor wear. Very Fine.

Issued to mark Japan’s military campaign following the Marco Polo Bridge (Lugouqiao) Incident, which began the Second Sino-Japanese War.
