f.w. CIP 1c paying the 1c postage, tied by wooden “滄州郵政局” handstamp, on reverse with showing wooden “唐官屯郵政信櫃” marking and manuscript note “初八到局”, indicating a three-day transmission. Accompanied by another cover addressed to the same recipient firm “恩興土店”, which unfortunately lacks the “唐官屯” handstamp, offered here for comparison as a supplementary piece.
f.w. a single CIP 1c (correct rate 4c), tied by Shanghai bisected cds with “T” due marking, and on reverse struck with red boxed “Shanghai Sanho No. 8 Letter Cabinet” handstamp. Carried by sea and arrived at Tsingtau on Jan 11, showing Tsingtau/Kiautschou arrival. Manuscript “15” denotes postage due of 15 pfennig to be collected from the addressee.
franked on reverse with eleven CIP 1c paying the 11c postage, tied by Yantai bisected cds., with boxed violet handstamps “煙台壹號信櫃” and “源順德代理郵政分局”. The front bears an “R” registration handstamp numbered “1346.” The cover arrived on Mar 19 with “山東登州郵政分局” arrival. This cover was sent by the prominent Ching official Tuan Fang, and is a rare and highly desirable example.
f.w. CIP 2c & 5c on reverse, tied by Huangkang lunar year cds. (甲辰冬月十五日), alongside with Chihli lunar Year arrival cds. (臘月). The coexistence of both 「冬月」and「臘月」datestamps on the same cover is highly unusual. The front additionally shows the framed handstamp「 保家/黃岡第137號」further enhancing its rarity.
f.w. a single CIP 1c paying the domestic letter rate, tied by a two-section, three-line framed tombstone handstamp of “樂山縣郵政分局”, the strike bearing engraved Kwanghsu reign date inscription but with the date unfilled. Arrived at Peking on Jan 4, on reverse with Peking bisected and “京都前門外打磨廠郵政分局” arrival. A fine and early example of Szechwan postal usage during the late Ching Imperial Post period, ex Wang Kize collection.
f.w. six CIP 1c on reverse paying the 6c rate, tied by Peking oval datestamps, with rectangular framed Peking Registered handstamp on front showing registration no. “120”. Transited via Shanghai (Jan 14) and arrived at Nantungchow on Jan 16 with oval arrival datestamp on reverse. The letter enclosed fourteen wooden boxes, representing an early example of a registered parcel cover in Chinese postal history.
f.w. CIP 1c and 10c paying the 11c postage, tied by Chengtu bisected cds. with adjacent boxed “R” registration handstamp numbered “1150.” On reverse with Shanghai lunar year transit “甲辰三月廿四” and Peking arrival. The cover was conveyed by river along the Yangtze to Shanghai, then forwarded to Peking. The recipient annotated “四月初二日郵政局交”, confirming receipt on May 16, 1904, with a total transit time of nearly one month.
f.w. a single CIP 1c paying the 1c rate, tied by “Tientsin No. 8 Letter Cabinet” handstamp, on reverse with transits of Tientsin bisected (1904.6.1) and Chihli lunar year (甲辰四月十八日). Accompanied by the original letter sheet.
f.w. a pair of CIP 1/2 c paying the 1c rate, tied by Chihli Peking lunar year cds. (甲辰七月二日), on reverse with “Peking No.13 Letter Cabinet” handstamp and Ningpo lunar year arrival (甲辰七月九日).
during the Japanese occupation of Manchuria, franked with a Japanese Kiku 3s paying the equivalent of the contemporary domestic letter rate. As the postage was paid with a Japanese stamp not recognized by the Chinese postal authorities, the cover was treated as unpaid, with three “T” due handstamps applied on reverse. A rare example of such postal treatment during this period.
f.w. a 3 cent Junk issue stamp, bearing wooden handstamp “廣州郵政三叁號信箱”. Received on Aug 28 of the same year, with a postal transit time of ten days.
f.w. 50¢ postage. First conveyed to Chungking, then carried via the Chungking–Hong Kong route through Kunming, departing Hong Kong on November 13, 1939. No arrival backstamp upon reaching England.
